	<!-~~- Enter~~ the ~~composer~~'s ~~biography here~~ -->		Jamie Wind Whitmarsh is an active composer, percussionist, and conductor presently located in Tallahassee, Florida. He is Music Director for the Tallahassee Composer's Orchestra, and performs with chamber ensembles Duo Rodinia and What Is Noise. Jamie holds Bachelor's degrees in Percussion Performance and Music Composition from Oklahoma City University and is finishing a Master's degree in Music Composition from Florida State University.

			While at OCU Jamie was president of Project 21, worked with local high schools in several different capacities, co-founded the Carl Albert High School Composition Competition and formed the OCU Steel Drum Band. Jamie typically spends his summers teaching at the OCU Performing Arts Academy, teaching theory/aural skills, and the OCU Percussion Camp and the Piedmont Percussion Project Summer Camps. He also works as a wind/percussion arranger with various marching bands.

			During his time at FSU, he placed first in the 2012 PAS Composition Contest, second in the 2013 PAS Composition Contest, first in the FSU Orchestral Composition Competition, and won the MTNA National Composition Contest, Young Artist Division. He has been commissioned by a variety of groups and artists, from middle school steel pan camps to Ryan Beach, principal trumpet of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Jamie has studied composition with Edward Knight, Ladislav Kubik, Lendell Black, Kris Maloy, and Mark Wingate; percussion with David Steffens, Steve Craft, Ben Fraley and Tommy Dobbs; conducting with Matthew Mailman; and steel pan with Mia Gormandy. Jamie's music is published by Jamie Wind Whitmarsh Music, C. Alan Publications, and Engine Room Publications.
