Ron Fink was former principal percussionist and timpanist with the Fort Worth Symphony, Opera and Ballet orchestras. He has done much freelance playing with many groups, including his own bands. Ron Fink and two UNT physics professors were awarded a grant to study the harmonic analysis of the timpani using spectral analysis. Ron Fink is well known as a collector of old toys and gives lecture-slide presentations. Some of his research photos appear in toy books and periodicals.
