Program Notes

David Eyler has provided fresh rudimental and rhythmic materials combined with the use of odd meters throughout the first section. The second section contains the mixing of meter signatures also, and addresses the use of bass drum, played with the foot. A third section consists of duets, including two in odd meters, which are intended to develope a sense of ensemble playing through careful attention to placement of accents, dynamic control, accurate performance of unison figures, syncopations and polyrhythms.
