== Description ==
Meditation No. 12 examines the breath as both a physiological act and a metaphorical anchor—a quiet, resilient thread running through the fabric of daily life. The work draws from the breathing paradox: voluntary and involuntary, conscious and unconscious, intimate and universal.

The bass drum serves as a sonic manifestation of the breath—elemental, grounded, and unwavering. It is the center of gravity, a pulse of presence around which more intricate rhythmic figures unfold. These surrounding textures—at times agitated, at others sparse and spacious—reflect the shifting landscapes of thought, feeling, and external chaos we continually negotiate.

The ensemble traverses a spectrum of sound: tension to release, density to stillness. In doing so, the piece resists narrative and offers space for listening, presence, and return. Meditation No. 12 invites us to hear sound, dwell within it, and experience breathing as a form of orientation in a world of constant acceleration.
