Odorata Suite is originally four separate song that Shoichi Takayashi composed for xylophone in 2011-2014. The four original songs are Odorata March, Odorata Waltz, Odorata's Lullaby nad Odorata Parade! This suite, compiled by Shoichi Takayashi, is a collection of pieces that capture the charm of Takayashiki's early works.
1. March: A march that begins with a lively fanfare played on a xylophone solo. The main section is in 2/4 time, C major, Allegretto con anima.
2. Waltz: 3/4 time, Fdur, Allegro con grazia. A gentle and elegant waltz. You can cut out the repetitions.
3. Cradle song: A literal translation would be "cradle song" or "lullaby." It begins with an impressive piano prelude, followed by a simple melody played on a xylophone. It's quite a lively lullaby. I think it would be good to play it not only on the xylophone, but also on instruments like the violin or flute. Personally, I really like the piano part; it's very well done. The main section is in 2/4 time, B major, Lento.
4. Parade: This killer tune often serves as the closing number at odorata's concerts. Pop and catchy. The ending is quite elaborately made. If I may say so myself, it's quite witty.
