Program Notes

This piece was commissioned by the brass band of my alma mater, Toke Junior High School in Chiba. It consists of four sections, each with its own distinct atmosphere.

While Tales of the Star can be interpreted freely as each performer envisions their own mythological world, you might, for example, draw inspiration from the constellations of autumn: Andromeda, Perseus, the sea monster, and Pegasus…Please turn imagination into creativity, and bring this work to life with a beautiful performance.
